National Nonprofit Day: Honoring the Power Behind the Work
On National Nonprofit Day, we’re honoring the people who make our mission possible. The nonprofit sector is powered by people: visionaries, builders, helpers, listeners, advocates. Room to Grow is lucky to be surrounded by individuals who bring care, dedication, and heart to this work every single day.
We’re also proud to be part of a broader nonprofit community creating change across every corner of society. Today, we pause to celebrate that collective power — and the supporters, volunteers, and partners who stand with us in shaping a more equitable future.
Nonprofits Are Filling Gaps and Building Bridges
More than 1.5 million nonprofit organizations operate in the United States — meeting needs, responding to crises, advocating for justice, and creating pathways where none existed. These organizations are stepping in to support communities when public systems fall short, filling critical gaps and building bridges to opportunity.
Room to Grow is one of them. We partner with families raising babies and toddlers in a country where systems meant to support them too often fall short. Our team shows up every day to walk alongside families and ensure they have the guidance, resources, and community they need to thrive.
Nonprofits aren't just responding to problems. We’re building solutions.
Behind Every Program, a Person
Nonprofits don’t just run on ideas — they run on people. And our team at Room to Grow is made up of some of the most committed, compassionate people you’ll ever meet.
Our team members bring diverse backgrounds and lived experiences to their roles. They’re artists, organizers, scholars, parents, and caregivers. Many have worked as pediatric occupational therapists, early intervention specialists, music therapists, grant writers, educators, fundraisers, and lawyers. Some have spent their careers inside museums, schools, courtrooms, clinics, and classrooms — all with one thing in common: a deep belief in helping families thrive.
Every day, they bring that care to our Family Centers to create welcoming spaces, nurture relationships, and partner with parents as they navigate early childhood. They meet families with respect, they hold space, and they offer trusted guidance and tools grounded in child development and family well-being.
Now is the Time to Celebrate Them
This work isn’t easy. But it is vital. Today, we celebrate our colleagues at Room to Grow and across the sector who work every day to build a better future. We celebrate the nonprofit professionals who make the world more accessible, more compassionate, and more just. And we extend our deepest gratitude to our broader community — the volunteers, donors, board members, and friends — who help make this work possible.
Be Part of the Movement
Now is not the time to pull back. It’s the time to push forward.
Whether you're working in the sector, donating to support it, or volunteering your time — nonprofits need you right now. These organizations are holding the line for our communities, and we all have a role to play in ensuring they can keep doing so in this economic and political climate.
If you believe in the power of people to make change, and in the role nonprofits play in creating opportunity, you’re already part of our community.
