Carla is excited to be a part of Room to Grow because she is passionate about supporting families to help their children thrive. As a first-generation immigrant from Cape Verde who experienced growing up in a low-income family firsthand, she knows that such a program is very valuable. Prior to joining Room to Grow, Carla had retail experience and worked as a mental health counselor in a residential facility with adolescents and adults. Most recently, she worked at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham, MA, where she assisted the Behavioral Health Director in developing programs to address community needs. Carla holds a Bachelor's degree in Social Psychology and Criminal Justice, and is working towards a Master’s in Organizational Psychology.
