Tovah Klein immerses herself in the joyous world of toddlers, young children, and parents daily. She is Director of the Barnard College Center for Toddler Development, Psychology Professor at Barnard College, and author of How Toddlers Thrive. She began working with Room to Grow back in 2000. Her groundbreaking research after 9/11 explored young children’s and parents’ experiences of the WTC attacks and the impact on children’s development. She is an advisor to programs worldwide, including Hunts Point Alliance for Children (HPAC), Ubuntu Pathways South Africa, and Children’s Museum of Manhattan, and was a developmental advisor to Sesame Workshop. 

Dr. Klein is an alumna of the University of Michigan (BA) and Duke University (PhD, Psychology). She is a mother of three and lives with her family in NYC.
