Angelica Flores joined the Site Operations team in August 2021. Her personal experience of being a daughter of a first-generation Mexican-American teen mom and growing up below the poverty line inspired her to work with an organization like Room to Grow. Her experience in the nonprofit sector began as a College Readiness Tutor at Sierra Vista High School in Baldwin Park, CA. She also worked as a Development Assistant at Renaissance Charter School in Jackson Heights, NY, a PK-12 program promoting community involvement and closing the disproportionate college attendance gap for low-income students. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Laverne in Anthropology, with a focus on cultural studies and statistical analysis. In her free time, Angelica enjoys visiting museums, reading, and watching reality television.
